MONTENEGRO ANNOUNCES NEW UNIVERSITY OF BRAGANÇA AND THE NORTHERN INTERIOR

Prime Minister Luís Montenegro announced this Sunday the creation of a new university intended to serve Bragança and the Interior North, during the closing of the PSD Summer University in Castelo de Vide. The announcement follows an address lasting more than 40 minutes focused on the areas of education, science and innovation.

During the speech, Montenegro also presented the intention to move forward with a new model of autonomy and governance for schools. The Social Democratic leader defended the need to strengthen the country's qualification and scientific capacity.

The announcement was made within the framework of the 22nd edition of the PSD Summer University, an initiative aimed at the training of young party cadres that took place over the past week in Castelo de Vide.

The prime minister chose not to address the political current affairs surrounding the motion of censure announced by Chega, focusing the entire speech on education, science and innovation policies.

O primeiro-ministro, Luís Montenegro, anunciou este domingo a criação de uma nova universidade destinada a servir Bragança e o Norte Interior, durante o encerramento da Universidade de Verão do PSD, em Castelo de Vide.

A intervenção do líder social-democrata esteve centrada na educação, ciência e inovação, tendo sido também apresentada a intenção de avançar com um novo modelo de autonomia e governação para as escolas.

Durante mais de 40 minutos, Montenegro defendeu mudanças nestas áreas e destacou a necessidade de reforçar a qualificação e a capacidade científica do país.

O anúncio surge no âmbito da 22.ª edição da Universidade de Verão do PSD, iniciativa destinada à formação de jovens quadros do partido, que decorreu ao longo da última semana em Castelo de Vide.

Na intervenção, o primeiro-ministro optou por não abordar a atualidade política em torno da moção de censura anunciada pelo Chega, concentrando o discurso nas políticas de educação, ciência e inovação.
