The Portuguese canoeists João Ribeiro and Messias Baptista won the silver medal in K2 500 meters at the World Canoeing Championships taking place in Poznan, Poland. The event took place today and the Portuguese athletes secured second place in the competition.

Messias Baptista is a former student of the University of Coimbra, an institution that marks the athlete's sporting career. The partnership between Ribeiro and Baptista once again demonstrated the quality of Portuguese training in this sport.

The news headline indicates that this is another achievement, suggesting that the athletes had already won medals in previous editions of the world championships. The competition in Poznan brings together the best canoeists in the world competing for the world titles.

The performance of the two athletes reinforces Portugal's position in the international canoeing scene, particularly in the K2 500 meters discipline, where the Portuguese team has shown consistency and competitiveness.
