Speaking without mentioning "case A" or the opposition, Montenegro announces changes in Education and University in Bragança

Expresso30 August 2026 at 13:57

Prime Minister Montenegro announced changes in Education and University during his closing speech at the PSD Summer University, which took place in Bragança. The event marked the presentation of the party's guiding lines for the sector.

In his speech, Montenegro insisted on the need not to postpone reforms, arguing that it is easier to leave everything as it is, but that this is not the correct approach. The Prime Minister made no reference to the so-called "case A" nor to the opposition during his speech.

The official also defended that the Portuguese understood well the objectives of the changes implemented in the correction of national exams, showing confidence in the acceptance of the reforms by the population.

The PSD Summer University event in Bragança thus served as a stage for Montenegro to present his vision for the Education sector, without directly addressing the most sensitive political issues of the moment.
