A first alert dispatch was issued for a rural fire in the district of Guarda, affecting the parishes of Almofala and Escarigo, in the municipality of Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo. The fire originated in scrubland vegetation and mobilized firefighting resources from various origins.

The authorities dispatched a total of 33 operatives to the scene, supported by 7 ground vehicles and 1 aerial resource to try to control the flames. The firefighting operation featured both ground and aerial resources to extinguish the fire.

The alert was registered in the district of Guarda, a region in the northern interior of Portugal frequently affected by rural fires during the hotter months. The competent authorities monitored the situation and coordinated the emergency response resources.
