Fenerbahçe heads to Champions and threatens to hijack target coveted by Benfica

Turkish club Fenerbahçe has joined Benfica in the race to sign Colombian midfielder Gustavo Puerta, currently at Racing Santander. According to the Turkish press, the Istanbul club has already made an enquiry about the player to understand the conditions necessary to move forward with a potential signing. In Spain, Racing Santander fans expressed their desire to see Puerta stay at the club during the match against Elche, chanting "Gustavo, stay." It should be recalled that Puerta had already been on Olympiacos's radar, but ended up rejecting the move to the Greek club, as confirmed by Olympiacos owner Evangelos Marinakis.
Marco Silva, Benfica's coach, reacted to criticism about the limited use of the Polish goalkeeper Kaminski, suggesting that some fans and commentators may be waiting for him to drop Prestianni from the starting eleven, given that he has been performing poorly, in order to make room for Kaminski. The coach highlighted the difficulty of managing the squad and the fans' expectations regarding his choices.
