Glovo registers 50% increase in pet purchases

The month of August is dedicated to companion animals, with the celebration of International Cat Day on August 8th and International Dog Day on August 26th. The delivery platform Glovo decided to analyze the evolution of its category dedicated to animals to better understand the consumption habits of Portuguese people in this sector.

Glovo's analysis revealed a significant 50% increase in purchases related to companion animals. This growth reflects the growing importance that pets assume in the Portuguese family context.

The study was conducted on the occasion of the two commemorative dates in August, which highlight cats and dogs. The platform wanted to understand how Portuguese consumption habits have accompanied the role of animals within families.
