It's official. Benfica announced the signing of Deivid Kauan, an 18-year-old Brazilian winger, who will join the Under-23 team of the red-and-white club. The young athlete was playing for São João de Ver, a club that competes in Liga 3 and is controlled by Dani Alves. The Under-23 team started the Next Gen League with a draw.
Deivid Kauan left good impressions at the Santa Maria da Feira club, having even scored in the Portuguese third division. He is a right-footed winger, but he has the ability to play on both flanks, demonstrating tactical versatility.
Among the main characteristics of the young Brazilian are irreverence, technical quality and the ability to beat opponents in one-on-one situations. The player shows skills in short dribbling and demonstrates ease in linking up with teammates, participating in the construction of attacking plays.
The signing is part of Benfica's strategy of investing in young players, seeking to identify and develop promising talents for the future of the club.
