Richard Ríos is close to leaving Benfica. The 26-year-old Colombian midfielder is not part of the long-term plans of the red-and-white structure, which has been working for some time with the possibility of freeing up space in the squad to proceed with the signing of Gustavo Puerta. In addition to Roma and Bournemouth, Besiktas now emerges as a new interested party in the player.
According to Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari, the Black Eagles from Istanbul presented an official offer to Benfica for the Colombian international midfielder. Besiktas has previously shown interest in signing players in the summer window, having been in the race for Vangelis Pavlidis and Dodi Lukebakio.
The Luz Stadium club will be available to accept the loan of Ríos, as long as the deal includes a purchase option clause that allows the Eagles to safeguard a future sale of the player at a value considered interesting. The Benfica SAD intends to prevent the lack of minutes from contributing to a devaluation of the player's assets.
