Memorial to the Glória Elevator should be inaugurated this week. Accident in 2025 killed 16 people

The memorial dedicated to the victims of the Glória Elevator accident, in Lisbon, should be inaugurated this week. The ceremony is scheduled for a few days before the anniversary of the tragedy.

The accident occurred in 2025 and resulted in the death of 16 people. Another 24 people were injured during the incident.

The memorial aims to pay homage to the victims and will function as a space of memory for all those affected by the tragedy in the historic elevator of the Portuguese capital.
