Nepali and Chinese authorities confirmed that the number of deaths caused by Wednesday's flash flood has risen to 768. Over three thousand people remain missing following the catastrophe.

Among the missing are three Portuguese citizens, according to the information released.

The flash flood hit the Nepal regions on Wednesday, causing widespread destruction and forcing rescue operations in several affected areas.

Authorities continue to work on search and rescue operations, while the numbers of dead and missing may still increase in the coming hours.
