Return of Justice marked by the start of the trial of police officers accused of torture

Portuguese courts resume full operation this Tuesday, after a month and a half of judicial recess. This return marks the restart of judicial activity throughout the country.

Among the cases that will move forward again is the BES case, which is described as a high-profile case. This process will continue from this date in the courts.

The main highlight of the return is the start of the trial of the PSP agents who are accused of torture. These police officers will be tried for the crimes they are suspected of.

This trial comes at a time of particular attention for the Portuguese judicial system, with several cases of great public interest being resumed simultaneously after the pause period.
