Russia announced this Sunday that it is preparing "massive attacks" against installations in the energy sector of Ukraine. The announcement was made by the Russian Defense Ministry, which indicated that these attacks will be directed specifically at Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
According to the Russian statement, these attacks are a response to the attacks that Ukraine is alleged to have carried out against civilian infrastructures and against Russia's energy sector. Moscow claims that it is acting in self-defense after what it considers to be provocations by Kyiv.
