Official: Emiliano Martínez leaves Aston Villa and joins Chelsea

The Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez left Aston Villa and signed with Chelsea for the next season. The transfer was officially confirmed by the clubs involved.

Martínez was at Aston Villa since 2020, having stood out as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League during that period. The Argentine was a key player for the team and won the 2022 World Cup with the Argentine national team.

Before completing the move to Chelsea, Martínez had a failed transfer to Juventus. The agreement with the Italian club did not go through, opening the way for the negotiation with Chelsea.

With this transfer, Martínez remains in the Premier League, swapping Aston Villa for Chelsea. The Argentine goalkeeper thus joins one of the big clubs in the English league for the next season.
