The Portuguese athletes João Ribeiro and Messias Baptista won silver in the K2 500 event at the Poznan World Championships. This was another important medal for the Portuguese delegation present at the competition.
The result represents Portugal's third podium at these World Championships. Previously, on Friday, Portugal had already achieved a podium with the K4 500, and on Saturday Fernando Pimenta won gold in K1 1,000.
In this way, the Portuguese canoeing team demonstrated consistent performance throughout several days of competition, securing medals in different categories and modalities within the same competition.
The Poznan World Championships have proven to be a highly successful competition for Portugal, with the athletes showing preparation and quality to compete at the highest international level.
