Largo da Praça in Machico hosts on Saturday, August 30, at 6:30 PM, the 15th edition of the Machico Folklore Festival. This event is held every two years and brings together folklore groups from Madeira, the Azores and the Canary Islands, uniting the Macaronesian islands in a celebration of common cultural traditions.

The meeting is organized by the Machico Folklore Group and takes place on the occasion of the Feast of the Lord (Most Holy Sacrament) at the Parish of Our Lady of the Conception. The initiative is thus part of the local religious festivities.

This year, the meeting has as its theme "Traditional transport of goods". The choice of this theme aims to evoke and preserve the memory of the old modes of transport used for the搬运 of products and goods on the islands.
