What if it were in the 'errejota'? : Humorist amuses by transferring the novel 'Quem ama cuida' to the city of Rio de Janeiro

Actor, humorist, singer and screenwriter Rodrigo Naice amused his followers by creating a humorous video transferring the novel "Quem ama cuida," originally set in São Paulo, to Rio de Janeiro. The video was titled "I transferred 'Quem ama cuida' to the errejota" and presents a series of jokes about which Rio neighborhoods the characters of the plot would inhabit.

In the video, Rodrigo Naice suggests that the character Adriana, played by Letícia Colin, would live in Tijuca, but not in conventional Tijuca, rather in the area known as Usina, which according to him is the part of Tijuca that people only call "Tijuca" so as not to scare whoever asks about the address.

After the house disaster in the first phase of the novel, the characters would move to the house of the character Rosa, played by Tatiana Tibúrcio, which according to the humorist would obviously be in Muzema. He justifies the choice by explaining that Muzema is that region between Rio das Pedras and Itanhangá, and that Adriana would be that type of character who, when someone asks where she lives, makes Rosalía start singing.

Everything is the same thing

This opinion article reflects on the growing inability to distinguish concepts and names, exemplified by a child who called a dolphin a "flamingo" and by a supermarket worker who confused ginger with eggplant. The author argues that this "vocabulary and cultural impoverishment" results from the decline in reading and interest, citing Irene Vallejo and Gregorio Luri to defend that reading strengthens language and that school failure is fundamentally a linguistic failure. It concludes that "it's the same thing" represents a closure into ignorance, where even distinct concepts are reduced to vaguely similar categories.
