The queen of the drum section of Samba School Estácio de Sá, Alice Alves, starred in a photo shoot on Morro de São Carlos, in the Central Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The location is considered one of the great cradles of Rio samba and it was from there that the traditional samba school emerged, completing its centenary in 2027. Alice's intention was to value the community and show the importance of the territory for Estácio's identity.

Morro de São Carlos is also the birthplace of great names in Brazilian music, such as Luiz Melodia and Gonzaguinha. The school, which currently competes in the Ouro Series, will have a guaranteed space in the next carnival, when it will parade at Marquês de Sapucaí celebrating its 100 years of history.

Alice Alves is in her second carnival at Estácio de Sá. She explained that the choice of the hill was not only for aesthetic reasons, but for the historical significance that the location represents for both the school and the residents of the community. The shoot sought to connect tradition and the valorization of local culture.
