The Public Prosecutor's Office filed charges against three individuals in the case of the Gloria Elevator accident: the former maintenance director of Carris, the manager of the company MNTC, and the service provider itself. The investigation points to serious security flaws and negligence in supervision on the part of those responsible.

The cable that failed, causing 16 dead and 24 injured, had a fiber core instead of steel and was not certified for passenger transport. This improper substitution of material was considered a serious violation of applicable security rules.

The accusation concerns the violation of security rules, resulting in a tragic accident that exposed serious deficiencies in the maintenance and supervision of equipment used for public passenger transport.
