'Nosferatu': Classic Horror Film Will Have Screening with Live Musical Score in Rio

The German cinema classic and horror landmark "Nosferatu", directed by F. W. Murnau in 1922, will have two special screenings at Sala Cecília Meireles, in Rio de Janeiro, on September 17 and 18. During the screenings, the film's soundtrack will be performed live by the Quarteto Kalimera, recovering the tradition of silent film screenings, when musicians accompanied the images directly from the projection room.

The musical direction and conducting of the presentations is in charge of Rafael de Miranda. The string quartet's repertoire brings together pieces by various composers, including Béla Bartók, Glauco Velásquez, Louis Spohr, George Onslow, Friedrich Fesca and Felix Draeseke, chosen to dialogue with the scenes of the film.

The Quarteto Kalimera is formed by violinists Tomaz Soares and Luca Kevorkian, in addition to Daniel Albuq..., completing the group that will perform the live presentations.
