Armed Forces invest in cyberdefense school

SAPO Notícias15 September 2026 at 18:18

The Brazilian Armed Forces are investing in the creation of the Cyberdefense School (EDC), an institution dedicated to training military personnel in cyberspace operations.

The school will aim to train military personnel to work at the Cyberdefense Operations Command (COCiber), which is the body responsible for coordinating the cyber operations of the Armed Forces.

In addition, the EDC will also train military personnel for the cyberdefense components of the Navy, Army and Air Force, covering the three branches of the Armed Forces.

With this investment, Brazil seeks to strengthen its defensive and operational capabilities in the cyber environment, preparing qualified personnel to face digital threats in the national defense scenario.

Why this matters

The creation of the Cyberdefense School represents a direct investment in preparing the Brazilian Armed Forces to deal with cyber threats, affecting military personnel who work or wish to work in the digital security area. This initiative follows the global trend of strengthening cyberdefense capabilities in the face of increasing digital attacks against critical infrastructure and government institutions.
