LG responded to accusations that its Smart TVs record conversations and collect user data without their knowledge. The company clarified how the voice recognition system and ACR (Automatic Content Recognition) technology work on its smart televisions.
In the statement, LG reinforced that no sensitive feature is active by default, meaning users do not have these features enabled by default when they acquire the device.
The company sent this response following an investigation published by the Gamers Nexus website that raised concerns about the privacy practices of the brand's Smart TVs.
However, LG's statement did not address all the accusations made by the Gamers Nexus investigation, leaving some questions unanswered regarding the company's data collection policies.
