Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Federal Court, stated during a trial that he has witnesses against Minister André Mendonça. Moraes ironized asking "who is afraid of the Federal Police?", referring to Mendonça's previous statements about a supposed parallel PF investigating Supreme Court ministers.
Mendonça asked for the floor to make an interjection during Moraes's speech, but had his request denied. The minister then stated that he would call witnesses, including police officers and lawyers, who could confirm statements made by Mendonça at a meeting.
Moraes stated that Mendonça would be "in service of a political group that wanted to give a coup in this country" and that he has witnesses that prove pressures exerted by Mendonça on investigations involving the Master case. Mendonça reacted saying that Moraes was lying, and the two ministers entered into a discussion.
Minister Moraes also stated that the discussions demonstrate connections between the trials, amid the climate of tension among the members of the court.
