The Air France-KLM Group, which is competing for TAP's privatization, will increase its offer in Portugal by 12% in the winter 2026-2027 season, measured in available seat-kilometers, compared to the same period last year. This winter, a total of 24 routes and up to 238 weekly frequencies will be in operation, connecting five national airports (Lisbon, Porto, Faro, Funchal and Ponta Delgada) to France, the Netherlands and Belgium.
In terms of seat capacity, the largest growths are in Funchal, with a 35% increase, and Porto, with 19% more. The offer also increases by 11% in Faro and 4% in Lisbon. Air France will expand the Porto connection to Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport, doubling the number of frequencies and adding an overnight stop in the city, enabling early morning departures. Transavia will also launch, on December 14, a new route between Porto and Brussels, with three weekly frequencies.
The group's offer also includes codeshare flights with partner Delta Air Lines, connecting Lisbon to New York and Boston year-round, as well as the seasonal Porto-New York service. The general director of Air France-KLM for Portugal and Spain, Manuel Flahault, highlighted that the strengthening of presence continues the growth of previous seasons in a strategic market, emphasizing the group's deep ties with the country.
This year Air France is celebrating 80 years of operation in the Portuguese market, after KLM marked 86 years. The group is also intensifying the use of next-generation aircraft on Portuguese routes, namely the Airbus A220 of Air France, the A321neo of KLM, in addition to the A320neo and A321neo of Transavia.
