The European Commission presented a legislative proposal to facilitate professional mobility within the Community space. The main objective is to significantly reduce the time needed for the recognition of professional qualifications, now allowing diplomas from seven professions to be recognized within a five-week timeframe.
This initiative comes in the context of EU efforts to eliminate barriers to employment between Member States. The proposal also includes the digitization of diplomas and Social Security documents, which should further simplify administrative processes for workers who wish to practice their profession in another country of the Union.
The seven professions covered by this proposal represent an initial step towards greater liberalization of the European labor market, allowing qualified professionals to more easily transfer their knowledge and skills between different Member States.
