The Caminha Municipal Council installed four cat shelters in several locations throughout the municipality. The equipment was placed in Caminha, Moledo and Vila Praia de Âncora, with the aim of providing better conditions for the felines.
This measure falls within the municipal strategy for animal welfare and public health, approved by the municipality. The shelters are part of the CED program, which stands for Trap, Neuter and Return, intended for stray cats in the area.
The program aims to protect the animals while simultaneously ensuring sanitation and public health conditions for the population. This initiative represents an investment in animal protection and responsible management of the feline population in the municipality.
