Ministers Kassio Nunes Marques and Dias Toffoli declared themselves impeded from participating in a trial at the Supreme Federal Court that could open an investigation against Minister Alexandre de Moraes. The decision by both was recorded during the court session.
The Federal Police indicate that businessman Daniel Vorcaro met with Moraes eight times and asked the minister for help to stop actions against Banco Master. The investigations are part of a case involving alleged interferences in investigations of the Superior Electoral Court.
Nunes Marques, who also chairs the Superior Electoral Court, clarified that he never exchanged messages with Daniel Vorcaro or his son. He explained that he declared himself suspect to not participate in the vote, citing concerns that the case could harm the electoral process.
Reports from this Tuesday indicated the alleged relationship between Nunes Marques' son and banker Daniel Vorcaro, including conversations about a payment of R$ 500 thousand. With the declarations of impediment by the two ministers, the trial continues with the remaining members of the STF.
