The Federation of Public Administration and Public Purpose Entities Unions (Fesap), affiliated with UGT, announced this Tuesday its main demands for the 2027 State Budget. The general secretary of the union structure, José Abraão, revealed that the federation is demanding a minimum public sector salary of 1,050 euros and a daily meal allowance of 10 euros.
According to the article, the value claimed by Fesap represents an additional 54.49 euros compared to the 995.51 euros provided for in the Public Administration Remuneration Base (BRAP) agreement. In the case of the meal allowance, the federation is demanding an additional 3.70 euros per day, when the pact signed with Prime Minister Luís Montenegro only provides for an increase to 6.30 euros in 2027.
Fesap is also demanding, for all workers, a salary update of at least 6.5% or 95 euros. The union leader argued that "if there is political will, it is possible" to achieve these demands, emphasizing the need to address the rising prices of the basket of essential goods, fuel, and housing.
The article also notes that the minimum wage in the private sector is expected to rise, next year, to 970 euros, a figure lower than what the federation is claiming for the civil service.
