The Attorney General, Lucílio Gandra, considered that the inquiry opened into the director of the Judicial Police, Luís Neves, "has nothing special about it" and that it is a procedure like any other.
The inquiry was opened following a complaint filed with the PGR related to the Football Leaks case, a case that involved the massive disclosure of documents related to tax evasion and financial crimes in football.
The Public Ministry did not reveal details about the content of the complaint that prompted the opening of the inquiry, limiting itself to classifying the procedure as routine.
The director of the PJ, Luís Neves, has not publicly commented on the opening of this inquiry to date.
