Jornal do Centro15 September 2026 at 15:05

Viseu hosts the IndustriaTech+AI congress between September 29 and October 1, dedicated to the technological evolution of industry and the impact of Artificial Intelligence on production processes. The event is promoted by the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Management Engineering and takes place at the Montebelo Viseu Congress Hotel & Spa, featuring specialized sessions, networking and technical visits to companies in the region.

The congress is organized around six thematic areas: Digital Manufacturing and Additive Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical Industry and Health, Maintenance and Artificial Intelligence, Innovation Design and Industrial Entrepreneurship, Cybersecurity and Smart Manufacturing & MES 4.0. The program aims to bridge knowledge with the concrete needs of industrial organizations, allowing participants to learn about technologies and applications in a business context.

Among the announced specialists are professionals from Embraer, Galp, Talgo, ATEC and Dynamox Europe, in an initiative that aims to strengthen the connection between technological knowledge and industrial reality. The technical visits, scheduled at the end of each day, allow participants to learn about practices and solutions implemented in industrial units in the Viseu region.

The event is co-organized by the Polytechnic University of Viseu, the Business Association of the Viseu Region, the Viseu City Council and Viseu Marca. Registrations are open at 150 euros per day, with a 10% discount for members of APMI, AIRV and AIMMAP.

Why this matters

The IndustriaTech+AI congress brings to Viseu three days of training and exchange of experiences on artificial intelligence applied to industry, bringing together national and international specialists and companies from the region. For professionals and companies in the Viseu region, the event represents an opportunity to learn about practical applications of AI in production processes, maintenance and decision-making, as well as establishing contacts with specialists and learning about solutions implemented in local industrial units. The initiative results from a partnership between the Polytechnic University of Viseu, AIRV, the City Council and Viseu Marca, reinforcing the region's positioning as an industrial innovation hub.
