Évora hosted this Tuesday a "historic day" for Portuguese parachuting, with the inauguration of the first federative headquarters of the sport in the region. The Portuguese Parachuting Federation thus inaugurated its new facilities in the Alentejo city, marking a significant moment for the sport in the country.
The decision to rehabilitate the space and keep the headquarters in Évora came from the president of the Portuguese Parachuting Federation, Eduardo Rodrigues. Rodrigues rejected a proposal from the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth that suggested transferring the facility to Lisbon.
Eduardo Rodrigues justifies his choice by recalling his historic connection to Évora, where he made his first sport jump in 1971. The president emphasizes the importance of this personal connection and the preservation of the sport's memory in the city.
