Agricultural producers in the Azores will continue to benefit from a 10 cent per liter support for agricultural diesel throughout the entire second half of this year. This extension was approved following a meeting between the Agricultural Federation of the Azores and the Regional Government, following the same model adopted in mainland Portugal.
The estimated value for this support in the second half of the year is 1.5 million euros. This support joins what had already been approved for the months of April, May, and June, which represented an investment of approximately 800 thousand euros.
The measure aims to mitigate the impact of rising fuel prices on agricultural activity in the region. However, the entities involved warn that this support may not be sufficient if prices continue to rise in international markets.
