The Ministry of Education faces a wave of criticism due to the lack of school places for students. The Minister of Education guaranteed that no student will be left without a school, but this promise failed to calm the opposition parties.
Several opposition parties demanded answers from the Government in light of this situation. The chorus of criticism has been strong, questioning the executive's capacity to guarantee places for all students.
The Socialist Party (PS) does not rule out the possibility of advancing a request for an Inquiry Commission to analyze this issue. This position comes following the pressures exerted by the opposition and the doubts raised about the management of the education sector.
The situation raises concerns about the planning and capacity of the Portuguese educational system to respond to students' needs, at a time when the school year is underway.
