The president of Iniciativa Liberal (IL), Leitão, criticized the Government for having requested true information about Social Security only to deliberately ignore it. According to this position, the executive will have ordered concrete data about the system but chose not to use it in decision-making.
In his intervention, Leitão argued that Portuguese people must be treated as adults, suggesting that there is a lack of transparency or political will to act based on the reality of the facts presented.
The position of the IL leader arises in the context of a broader debate about Social Security management and social protection policies in Portugal, where the transparency and justification of government decisions have been questioned by the opposition.
