The "Fasten Me Alive" campaign, integrated in the National Enforcement Plan 2026, took place between September 8 and 14 and aimed at enforcing the use of road safety devices. The operation was coordinated by the National Road Safety Authority together with the Republican National Guard and the Public Security Police.
In the Autonomous Regions of the Azores and Madeira, 10 infractions were recorded related to the non-use or incorrect use of safety devices during this period. These data refer specifically to the enforcement actions carried out in these two autonomous regions of Portuguese territory.
Nationwide, authorities detected 619 infractions related to the use of safety devices during the same campaign period. This number contrasts significantly with the 10 infractions recorded in the Autonomous Regions, suggesting a lower incidence of violations in these regions or a lower enforcement intensity compared to the mainland.
