The United States Department of Defense revealed that the country faces an ammunition shortage due to the war in Iran. The statement contradicts that of American President Donald Trump, who said the country had no problems, even with American press reports reporting otherwise.
In a report sent to Congress, the Inspector General of the Department stated that between February 28 and June 30, Operation Epic Fury had an estimated cost of $33.4 billion, of which $22.3 billion were spent exclusively on the munitions used.
The report found that the spending on munitions resulted in strategic stockpile shortages and revealed bottlenecks in munitions supply throughout the industry.
The text also listed American losses, including four F-15 fighters destroyed, one F-35 damaged, seven KC-135 tanker aircraft damaged, and up to 30 MQ-... drones. The information was disclosed by the CBS News television network.
