The secretary-general of PS, José Luís Carneiro, accused the Minister of Education, Fernando Alexandre, of a "failure never seen before" at the start of the school year, given reports of dozens of students who still do not have places in public schools.
The socialist leader defended that the minister must "assume political responsibility" and attributed the concern among families to the lack of coordination between education policy and the country's demographic realities.
This accusation comes in the context of multiple reports of a lack of places in public schools at the start of the school year, which caused concern among parents and students.
