Civil police officers from the Capital's Automobile Robbery and Theft Division (DRFA-CAP) launched on Tuesday an operation against Comando Vermelho criminals involved in vehicle thefts and other crimes. The teams aimed to execute 12 arrest warrants, in addition to four others against targets who are already incarcerated, in the Lins Complex and Grande Méier, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro.
Two people were arrested during the action, as reported by Bom Dia Rio, on TV Globo. One of them is Vitor Puma, identified as responsible for adulterating vehicles after the robberies, as stated by delegate Thiago Neves in an interview with the news program.
According to the delegate, some of the stolen vehicles were being traded with other states, such as Mato Grosso. The operation was launched based on the intelligence work of DRFA-CAP, which identified the criminal organization's activity in the region.
