Bob Mackie, the North American stylist known as the "Sultan of Sequins," has died at 87. Mackie was widely recognized for his work in the entertainment world, having dressed some of the most iconic figures in music and film.
Among his most well-known clients were Cher, Tina Turner and Elton John, for whom he created memorable outfits that became part of pop culture. His designs were characteristic for the abundant use of sequins, plumes and shiny materials.
Throughout his career, Bob Mackie received numerous recognitions. He won nine Emmy Awards, one Tony and received three Oscar nominations, consolidating his status as one of the most award-winning stylists in the entertainment industry.
