Filinto Lima, president of the National Association of Directors of School Clusters and Public Schools, welcomed the solution found to resolve the lack of vacancies in Lisbon schools. The association praised the expansion of classes as a measure to address the scarcity of available places in the capital.
The association acknowledges the effort to solve the immediate problem but expressed the desire that more classes be created to meet the needs of the school population. The directors consider that the expansion of existing classes, while useful, does not fully resolve the situation in the long term.
Additionally, the National Association of Directors of School Clusters and Public Schools advocated that the situations of student refusal at schools be investigated. This demand aims to better understand the reasons why children are being prevented from attending educational establishments in Lisbon.
