A Portuguese startup won an international social innovation challenge in the tourism sector. The challenge was promoted by the Sommet Education Foundation, in partnership with the educational institution Les Roches.
The competition was launched in September 2025 and received 866 applications from 109 different countries. This high number of registrations demonstrates the global interest in innovation in the tourism sector.
Almost half of the proposals submitted originated from Africa, which highlights the growth of entrepreneurship and social innovation on the African continent. This data underscores the growing role of African countries in the global innovation landscape.
