The return to school is having a significant impact on the budgets of Portuguese families, with 83% of respondents considering that costs are higher than in previous years. The average expense per child reaches 179 euros, which represents a considerable burden for many households.
This reality is leading families to change their consumption habits. The vast majority, 86%, say they compare prices frequently or always before doing the shopping for the school year. This trend shows a growing concern with family budget management.
Furthermore, 97% of respondents reveal they reuse at least some school supplies from previous years. This practice of repurposing has become common among families looking to reduce the expenses associated with the start of a new school year.
