The secretary-general of Fesap, the Trade Union Federation of Public Administration, considered that even if the minimum wage in the public sector rose to 1,030 euros in 2027, this value would continue to be insufficient. This position arises in the context of salary negotiations between the government and public administration trade unions.
According to the union leader, the remuneration base in the public administration needs to continue being increased, naturally moving away from the national minimum wage. This view reflects Fesap's concern with salary precariousness in the public sector and the need to guarantee better conditions for state workers.
The federation has been advocating that the base salary of public servants should be progressively detached from the national minimum wage, in order to adequately recognize the work carried out in the public administration and to attract and retain qualified professionals.
