Mozambique will participate for the first time in the annual forum on sustainable tropical timber trade held in Macau. The debut of the African country at this event was announced by the Government of the Chinese special administrative region.
The Secretary of State for Land and Environment of Mozambique will be present at the forum, representing the country as a special guest. This participation marks an approach between Mozambique and international structures dedicated to the sustainable trade of forest products.
The annual event regularly brings together representatives of tropical timber producing and consuming countries, as well as sector specialists, to discuss issues related to sustainability and responsible trade of these products.
Mozambique has vast tropical forests and a significant timber industry, which makes its presence relevant at a forum dedicated to promoting sustainable tropical timber trade.
