UMinho brings three days of music, cinema and culture to Braga and Guimarães

Braga TV14 September 2026 at 23:06

The University of Minho promotes between Thursday and Saturday the Recomeço Festival, an initiative that brings dozens of cultural activities to Braga and Guimarães. The programme runs from September 17 to 19 and includes concerts, cinema, theatre, performances, exhibitions, routes and moments of socializing.

The festival is organized in seven thematic areas and proposes different forms of participation for the academic community and the general public. The initiative aims to mark the return to in-person activities after the period of restrictions.

Braga and Guimarães host the various scheduled activities, taking advantage of the cultural spaces of the two cities where UMinho is present. The event represents an effort by the university to dynamize the cultural life of the region.

Why this matters

Readers in the Braga and Guimarães region have access to a diverse and free cultural programme for three days, with activities for different audiences. The festival, organized by a reference institution such as UMinho, dynamizes the cultural life of the two cities and offers opportunities for socializing and leisure to the community.

She covered her body with gold paint and wore an outfit that reproduced the trophy's main elements: wings and the sphere raised above the head. Alongside Paul W. Downs, her co-star, the appearance became one of the most unusual of the night, taking the playful joke the two had made at other award shows to a literal dimension.

Sydney Sweeney loses 200 thousand followers after sensual campaign for sports prediction app

Actress Sydney Sweeney, known for "Euphoria" and "The Handmaid's Tale", lost about 200 thousand followers on social media after starring in a controversial campaign for the Novig app, a sports betting and prediction platform. In the commercial, Sweeney appears semi-nude, with her body covered only by sports materials, which generated criticism from female athletes who accused her of contributing to the sexualization of women in sports. This is not the first controversy involving the actress, who last year starred in a campaign for the American Eagle jeans brand considered racist and sexist by many, but praised by Donald Trump.
