After coach Roberto De Zerbi stated that Richarlison would not be registered for the Premier League nor participate in Tottenham's League Cup matches, the Brazilian player reacted on social media. In an Instagram post, Richarlison reposted the coach's quote and responded only with "Why?" accompanied by an emoji, questioning the decision.
De Zerbi explained that Richarlison's situation has not changed and that the player is not available to play. The coach confirmed that he had previously informed about the decision, and that nothing has changed since then.
The Italian coach also revealed he had attempted to renew Richarlison's contract at the beginning of the European season. However, De Zerbi stated that he now remains removed from discussions between the player and the club regarding the Brazilian's future.
Tottenham faces Liverpool on Tuesday in the English League Cup, a match for which Richarlison was not selected, just as he is not registered for the Premier League.
