The University of Évora is strengthening human resources linked to scientific research, science management, and knowledge transfer through competitive procedures published in the Official Gazette throughout 2026, funded by Alentejo 2030 and the European Social Fund Plus. The areas covered include agriculture, environment, biodiversity, sustainability, and mineral resources.
One of the procedures is intended for the Geological Data Science Laboratory, in Évora, foreseeing the hiring on a permanent basis of a senior technician for the acquisition, processing, and analysis of geological, geochemical, geophysical, and geospatial data, using satellite images, drones, and LiDAR data. The work includes the development of methodologies for the characterization and monitoring of Alentejo's mineral resources, with particular focus on gold-bearing mineralized systems.
Another competition refers to the hiring of a senior researcher in the area of Biological Sciences for MED — Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development, at the Mitra campus, through a permanent contract with a gross monthly remuneration of 3,576.56 euros. The procedure, published on August 19, includes functions of science management and analysis, scientific communication, and knowledge transfer.
Within the scope of the RH INOVA program, two permanent positions are also foreseen in the university's Science and Cooperation Services, with functions of supporting the preparation and submission of research projects, monitoring execution and promoting results, from a perspective of articulation with the Regional Smart Specialization Strategy of Alentejo 2030.
