The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) promoted a Media Open Day dedicated to the BPI League, the main women's football championship in Portugal. The event aimed to give visibility to the competition and provide a moment of dialogue between the players and the media.
The players Pauleta, captain of Benfica, Brenda Pérez, a key player for Sporting, and Rute Costa, an international for Torreense, were the representatives present at the event. The three athletes shared their perspectives on the championship and the fight for professionalization in Portuguese women's football.
The objective of the Media Open Day was to raise awareness about the importance of women's football and address issues such as working conditions, gender equality, and the development of the sport in the country.
FC Porto was not present at the event, having missed this initiative organized by the FPF to promote the BPI League with the media.
