President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva sanctioned this Monday the project that expands the financing lines of Move Brasil, a program created to help transport professionals renew their vehicles. The sanctioning occurs amid a difficulty the government is still trying to resolve: making credit reach drivers. Although there are resources available, the contracting depends on bank approval, and the volume released so far is well below what was expected.
For taxi drivers and app drivers, the program offers financing for new cars that meet efficiency and sustainability criteria, including electric and hybrid models. The value of eligible vehicles was raised from R$ 150 thousand to R$ 200 thousand, and the payment term was extended from six months to seven years.
Move Brasil also brings together financing lines aimed at truck drivers and delivery workers. The text sent for sanctioning also includes school transport professionals. The main obstacle lies in the stage following the credit, in which banks need to approve the financing so that resources effectively reach the professionals.
