Sport Club Corinthians Paulista conquered the runner-up position at the 2026 World Master Rowing Championship, men's classification, which ended last Sunday (13) in Bled, Slovenia. The Brazilian team achieved second place in a competition that brought together more than 4,700 athletes from 890 clubs from around the world.
The World Championship edition was marked by a high technical level and a record number of participants, according to the event organizer. The result represents a significant achievement for Brazil, for the club, and for all team members, who prepared for months for the competition.
Giovanni M. Cardoso, master rower from Corinthians, businessman, numerary and founder of Mondial and AIWA Brasil, commented on the result, stating that rowing requires discipline, training, strength, and endurance. He highlighted that facing high-level athletes from different countries and generations makes the result even more significant.
The 2026 World Master Rowing Championship brought together athletes of various age groups and nationalities, competing in different categories and modalities within master rowing, which encompasses older rowers. The competition in Bled established itself as one of the largest international events in the sport.
