The Brazuca Support and Friends Association (AABA) organizes on October 3rd, at the Fundão Multipurpose Pavilion, in the Centro region of Portugal, the fifth edition of the "Luso-Brazilian Arraiá". The event, which brings together culture, gastronomy, music, and fellowship, positions itself as a meeting space between Brazilians, Portuguese, and residents of other nationalities in the municipality. Last year's edition attracted around 800 people, and the organization again expects stalls, gastronomy, music, family activities, and an atmosphere inspired by cordel literature and elements of Brazilian folk culture.
The initiative has the support of the Fundão City Council and the Union of Parishes of Fundão, Valverde, Donas, Aldeia de Joanes, and Aldeia Nova do Cabo. AABA is a volunteer association, with no paid staff, which was founded in Fundão to address needs that the migrants themselves identified. Municipal documents identify the association as a support network for Brazilian migrants and those of other nationalities, pointing to the Brazilian community as one of the most representative in the municipality.
